About

Assignment photographer, working with editorial and advertising clients, contributing to likes of Yankee Magazine, Sierra Magazine or Powder Magazine. Joe has also worked with AJ Moss, Eastern Mountain Sports, New Hampshire Department of Travel and Tourism and Wild Things, to name a few. Joe has spent time randomly traveling to Chamonix, Yosemite and Newfoundland exploring and photographing adventure sports, but his favorite places are in his backyard, North Conway, NH. Living in White Mountains makes it easy for him to get at great locations in the North East.

After developing his unique style in the mountains and wild places of New Hampshire, Joe refined his skills at the International Center of Photography in New York City. Starting out primarily in adventure sports Joe’s style has evolved into something more subtle than sports photography. “To me it’s much more important to get a sense of the moment and place, I’m interested in seeing the human form when put into a hostile environment, or a craftsman totally focused on getting just the perfect curve on a glass bowl. Through photography, I’ve found that extreme athletes are kindred to craftsman, there’s a single minded passion for what they do, no matter how much preparation, training or practice it takes.”

The artisan project has taken Joe to the coast of Maine and down to Brooklyn, NY. Joe is available to travel throughout New England and further if the project is intriguing…..
